Permit(s) Necessary for Plat Approval(s)
Minor Plat(s) must have the
following permits submitted in order to obtain approval:
- Health Department approval for property that will need
to obtain public water and or sewer usage
- DOH (Department of Highways) entrance permit(s) for
new lots accessing a state highway
Preliminary Plats must have the
following permits submitted in order to obtain approval:
- If a new lot will be accessing a state road, Berkeley
County will need a DOH entrance permit
- If the lot(s) will be on public sewer, Berkeley county
will need a water and sewer availability letter from the county
health department
- If a new road will be created, then the county will
require central dispatch’s approval of the name of the road being
created
- If the lot(s) will be more than 5,000 square feet, we
will need an NPDES permit from WVDEP
- If septic will be needed for the project, we will need
Berkeley county health approval for well and septic
- State health approval will be needed before water or
sewer can be implemented
- A GPP (Ground Water Protection Plan) is required by
WVDEP
- If designing a cluster sewage system or packaging
plant we will need the applicant to file for a UIC permit with the
WVDEP
- If the project began after January 1,
2004, in accordance with the Berkeley
County Planning Commission regulations, a traffic impact study and
school
impact analysis are required
Final Plats must have the
following permits submitted in order to obtain approval:
- LOC (Letter of credit)
- A bonding estimate, from Engineering, must be
completed
- Legal approval from Pat Henry
