RE:                  Standardization of Major Subdivision/Land Development Unit Plans

The Planning and Engineering Departments will begin a standardization process of major subdivision/land development plans beginning on March 5, 2007. The purpose of standardization is so both the Engineering and Planning departments can easily review plans submitted by knowing exactly where to find required items. Attached, you will find a checklist of items to be included on required pages of plans submitted and required certifications to be included on the cover page of all plans. Items on the checklists are required items on applicable sheets as listed; additional items can be included if necessary.

All firms will be required to have the items listed on the checklists on applicable sheets no later than April 2, 2007. For projects that have drawings completed without the standardization requirements, yet have been waiting for approvals from outside agencies for an extended amount of time, IF correspondence is submitted supporting this period of time, plans will be considered by the Planning and Engineering Departments of grandfathering from the standardization requirements.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Planning Office at 304.263.1963. Thank you for your cooperation.
