MSAG MAPS                  Link to MSAG Maps

MSAG Maps provide valuable information on the mapping of Berkeley County.  This information was compiled as a result of the base mapping of Berkeley County through the address conversion project.  This information is periodically updated as part of the MSAG mapping process.

Important Tip -- Concerning Pop-up-blockers
If you have installed a pop-up window blocker, you will need to list http://www.onlineGIS.net in the "trusted" sites settings of the blocker software for onlineGIS.net to work (or click on the "allow pop-ups" button on your browser toolbar [like the Google bar]). If you click on a map site link and simply go back to the onlineGIS.net home page, you have blocking software installed. Some blocker software also causes a clicking sound.  Also, Norton Anti-Virus protectors and other protectors including firewall could prevent you from having access to the MSAG maps. If you have Norton, the “Ad Blocker” could prevent you from having access. Try disabling the ad blocker to see if you can get access. If you are successful than you would need to allow onlineGIS.net to have access.

FIRST TIME USERS / PREVIOUS USERS -- be aware of a new software
update that must be installed before
the system can be used

Understanding certain concepts can help the first time user get the most out of the MSAG Mapping System. Before clicking on the link below, review the following guidelines and tips on how to navigate through the MSAG web site and obtain your desired results:

The MSAG mapping system needs a special software viewer in order to function properly. This viewer has been updated recently and the new version must be installed on your computer in order to use the MSAG System. Earlier versions will not work. However for most users, when you first go to the MSAG page, the new version of the software viewer will be  automatically downloaded and installed on your computer by clicking AUTOMATIC UPDATE on a screen that appears when you first use the system. The update will take several minutes and then you are ready to use the System.  If problems occur, then you must click the button REQUIRED SETTINGS and make adjustments, before the automatic update can proceed.
From now on you can merely click on the link below and go straight to the MSAG Home Page.
At the bottom of the page click on the bold type that says
"GO  TO  MAP"
A map of the county now appears, with a legend on the left, and
some tools on the right, that will help you view the map
The 2 most significant tools are the magnifying glass for
"zoom in" and "zoom out". These 2 tools can get you anywhere
you want in the county.
Choose "zoom in"  and pick a location on the map and click.
Keep clicking and the more you will zoom in. You will get to a
point where you will see little squares denoting structures.
Each square will have a number and will be located on a street.
This is the new address of the structure.
"Zoom out" works the opposite of the "zoom in". Keep clicking on
an area of the map and you will get to a point where the whole county map is visible again.
You can use the "Search Map" option any time you want to take you
directly to an address -- and then you can "zoom in" for more detail.
Other tools are available, but once you know how to "zoom in",
"zoom out", and Search, the rest is pretty easy
Note that when the curser passes over many sites, the appropriate
name will appear in a small message box
