 | The MSAG mapping system needs a special software
viewer in order to
function properly. This viewer has been updated recently and
the new version
must be installed on your computer in order to use the MSAG System.
Earlier versions will not work. However for most users, when you first
go
to the MSAG page, the new version of the software viewer will be
automatically downloaded and installed on your computer by clicking
AUTOMATIC UPDATE on a screen that appears when you first use the
system. The update will
take several minutes and then you are ready to use the System.
If problems occur, then
you must click the button REQUIRED SETTINGS and make adjustments,
before
the automatic update can proceed.
|
 | From now on you can merely click on the link below and go
straight to the MSAG Home Page.
|
 | At the bottom of the page click on the bold type that says
"GO TO MAP"
|
 | A map of the county now appears, with a legend on the left, and
some tools on the right, that will help you view the map
|
 | The 2 most significant tools are the magnifying glass for
"zoom in" and "zoom out". These 2 tools can get
you anywhere
you want in the county.
|
 | Choose "zoom in" and pick a location on the map
and click.
Keep clicking and the more you will zoom in. You will get to a
point where you will see little squares denoting structures.
Each square will have a number and will be located on a street.
This is the new address of the structure.
|
 | "Zoom out" works the opposite of the "zoom
in". Keep clicking on
an area of the map and you will get to a point where the whole county
map is visible again.
|
 | You can use the "Search Map" option any time you want
to take you
directly to an address -- and then you can "zoom in" for
more detail.
|
 | Other tools are available, but once you know how to "zoom
in",
"zoom out", and Search, the rest is pretty easy
|
 | Note that when the curser passes over many sites, the appropriate
name will appear in a small message box
