I, Development Review Manager Position
The
Berkeley County Planning Commission seeks qualified candidates
for the position of Planner I, Development Review Manager.
This position has a salary scale classification Grade
AA-2. The
Development Review Manager shall have a minimum of two to four
years progressively responsible experience working in a public
or private sector office in an administrative or professional
capacity. A
bachelor’s degree is preferred, but may be substituted by
additional professional in a land use planning work
environment. The
successful applicant shall be computer proficient, and at
minimum shall be skilled in the operation of computer software
such as Word, Microsoft Outlook, Power Point and Microsoft
Excel. Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) a
plus. The
Development Review Manager is also responsible for setting all
Staff Technical Advisory Committee meeting agendas; for
conducting technical reviews of development applications, and
for making decisions regarding the “review readiness” of
projects seeking placement on STAC and Planning Commission
meeting agendas. He
or she will be responsible for tracking the review progress of
numerous projects, and for seeing that all reviews are
conducted in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
The person in this position will act as facilitator at
all STAC meetings.
The
successful applicant will be highly responsible; detail
oriented, extremely well organized, and shall require little
or no supervision. Excellent
clerical, interpersonal and communications skills are
required, as the Development Review Manager will serve as the
key point of contact between the development community, the
Planning Department and the Planning Commission.
He or she will be required to become familiar with the
County’s Subdivision Regulations; all Planning Department
application procedures and all other applicable State and
local laws. The
starting salary range for this position is $27,000. - $29,
000., commensurate with education and experience, plus an
excellent benefits package.
