PLANNING DIRECTOR
BERKELEY COUNTY, MARTINSBURG,
WEST VIRGINIA
The Berkeley County Planning Commission is seeking a qualified
individual to fill the position of Planning Director for the Planning
Commission.
DUTIES:
Responsible for the consistent, timely, fair
implementation and enforcement of the Berkeley County Subdivision
Ordinance and all associated ordinances; the update and maintenance of
the Berkeley County Comprehensive Plan, and the Annual Activity Report.
The Director will be responsible for the day to day operations of
the Planning Commission Office, and the supervision of its staff.
The Director will develop the annual budget, reports, and studies
as required by Statute. The
Planning Director will ensure that all Planning Commission funds are
collected and dispersed in accordance with statute, and will routinely
account for such funds to the Planning Commission and annually to the
County Commission.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution in
the field of Planning, Land Use Management, or Public Administration, or
equivalent work experience. Certification
by American Institute of Certified Planners preferred (or obtainable
within one year of employment). Three
years mandatory demonstrated professional/managerial work experience in
county or municipal government mandatory.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
Valid driver’s license required.
Berkeley County residency desirable within one year of
