ANIMAL CONTROL
CHIEF ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER
Applications are now being accepted for the position of Chief
Animal Control Officer. Responsibilities
include the enforcement of all laws regarding dogs in accordance with
county ordinances and state law, maintaining the Animal Control
facility, issuing warning citations, investigating animal cruelty
complaints supervises all Animal Control employees and directs Animal
Control officers in the completion of their assigned tasks.
Additional responsibilities include the
confiscation of all dogs without tax or vaccination tags, collection and
deposits of pound fees with the Sheriff’s Tax office, preparation of
monthly statistical reports and testifies in court hearings and
trials.
Qualifications
include a high school diploma (required) and College degree preferred.
Progressive managerial experience and experience with law
enforcement, court security or animal control facility is desired.
Experience should include the use of firearms.
Must be able to lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds, the ability
to work with the public in stressful situations and have a valid
driver’s license. A
thorough background investigation will be conducted for applicants
considered for selection. All
applicants must be certified for use of a handgun.
The starting salary range is from $23,835.00 to $25,725.00
depending on experience. A
generous benefit plan is also included.
