This will be a town meeting format with Senator McCabe answering questions following his presentation.
Joint government can take several forms ranging from consolidation of Metro and County governments or consolidation of County and County governments, or the consolidation of only certain services. Senator McCabe is the State’s most visible and committed advocate of consolidation of governmental services. The purpose of the presentation is to discuss advantages and/or disadvantages of joint government. Possible advantages are cost efficiency and efficient delivery of services. Senator McCabe will also present the argument that consolidation of services will make us more competitive from an economic development standpoint.
The event is free to the public and all interested parties are invited to attend and learn more about the concept of joint forms of government.
For more information, please contact the offices of the Berkeley County Commission at 264-1923. We hope that you can join us for what promises to be a very informative presentation by Senator Brooks McCabe.
